Irene Zuniga

Irene comes from a family of farm workers who grew corn, papaya, tomatoes, watermelon and guayabas in Michoacán, Mexico. Her parents (Rodolfo and Hilda Zuniga) migrated from Michoacán to the United States in the 80s in search for a better life. Although her parents couldn’t help or guide her throughout her education, they gave her all the love and support she needed and pushed her to pursue a college degree. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from California State University Bakersfield, Irene Zuniga entered the Agriculture industry to explore her passion for helping other. She is currently a Human Resources Manager for one of the largest citrus grower, shipper, packer of fresh citrus in America. In her role, Irene assists employees in understanding their benefits, company policies and supports their professional development within the company. Irene takes pride in helping employees have the best work experience possible. Irene enjoys being involved in her community and helping young people who share a similar background. She is a youth mentor for Latina Leaders of Kern County and enjoys giving back to her community. On her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and her three Labradoodles, Eevee, Bagheera and Mowgli.
