My name is Adilene Rojas-Alejo, and I was born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico. At 22 years old, I moved to Santa Maria, California, and started working in the fields. At 25 years old, I pursued my educational goals as an ESL student at Allan Hancock College (AHC) while continuing to work part-time. I received my AA in Spanish at Allan Hancock College and a BA in Spanish Linguistics from UC Berkeley. I was the first in my family to attend and graduate college.
As an Outreach Specialist with the California Farmworker Foundation, I hope to give back to my community and support farmworkers by providing the services and programs that are available in the Santa Maria Valley.
