I graduated from Fresno State in 2021 with a BA in social work with enfaces on child welfare. I’m originally from Woodlake, Ca, but moved to Fresno to continue my education. During my free time I would volunteer at homeless shelters. Being able to give back to the community is something that I always strive to do. From a young age I can see my parents leave the house before the sun was out and coming back home once the sun was down, and I can still remember them telling my siblings and I that everything they were working for was to give to us because they didn’t want us working in the fields like them. To teach my brother and I how hard field work was my parents took us for a couple of months to work. It was hard but it also gave me a sense of appreciation toward my parents and every field worker out there. I joined CFF because I want to be able to give back to the community, I want to let them know that their hard work is appreciated and not taken for granted.
