My name is Jennifer Camacho; I was born and raised in Baja, California, Mexico, and moved to Santa Maria, CA, in 2012. I come from a family of hardworking parents who, despite the circumstances and the hard work in the fields, were able to provide an education for my siblings and me. I am the first in my family to attend college and graduate with an AA from Allan Hancock College and a BA in Spanish from UCLA.
Santa Maria has welcomed me and taught me to always work for the betterment of our community. I am actively involved in my community for the betterment of Santa Maria and its people by volunteering at different places, being part of community groups, and advocating for more services. Joining the California Farmworker Foundation will allow me to help my community on a larger scale to help them better their quality of life and help future generations. I know first-hand the struggle of many families and am committed to providing the support they need.
