CFF Hosts 3rd Annual Pruning Competition
Showcasing Farmworkers’ Mastery in Vine Pruning
This year’s 3rd Annual Competition took place on January 19 in Kern County, where more than 30 participants from the Central Valley participated for the title of the San Joaquin Valley’s Champion. Cash prizes totaling over $3000 were awarded to the top performers. This year we also crowned the Champion Team for overall highest score of the competition.
The Annual Pruning Competition highlights the expertise and artistry of farmworkers in vine pruning, emphasizing the precision, talent, and strength required to cultivate high-quality fruit. This event recognizes and celebrates the essential role farmworkers play in providing us with fruits like table grapes that we enjoy.

The competition underscores the vital contribution of farmworkers ensuring that such fruits reach our tables.
