Introducing the California Farmworker Foundation’s
Family Resource Center
A Message From The CEO
Dear Friend and Valued Partner of CFF,
California’s farmworkers are the dedicated hands that feed the world, transforming fields into the bountiful harvests that sustain us all. Since our founding in 2016, the California Farmworker Foundation (CFF) has remained steadfast in its mission to empower and uplift California’s farmworkers and rural communities. Guided by our commitment to Health & Wellness, Education, and Civil Assistance, our organization has evolved persistently to provide essential support services that improve the quality of life for California farmworkers and their families.
Looking ahead to Spring 2026, we are thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter in our journey – the creation of the Family Resource Center. This initiative represents a foundational opportunity to solidify and broaden our impact to the 300,000+ residents living in the most distressed communities throughout the Central Valley.
Spanning 60,000 square feet on 8.5 acres, the Family Resource Center will serve as a vital hub for wraparound supports that facilitate health & wellness, educational opportunities, and system navigation to access civil services.
To bring this vision to life, we are proud to collaborate with community partners to help deliver services that effectively address the immediate needs of the community:
Healthcare services that provide general screenings, chronic illness checks, and preventive health treatments and care.
Clinical and mental health services.
Dental services for preventative and treatment care.
Ophthalmology services for diagnosing, treating, and preventing eye and vision disorders.
Workforce development and technical training opportunities in areas like solar panel manufacturing and installation.
Legal consultation and documentation support services.
After-school programs focused on health and well-being, character and leadership development, academic success, and career readiness for the children of farmworkers.
The Family Resource Center is more than just a facility. It is a commitment to improving the lives of the hardworking farmworkers who are the heart of our agricultural communities. The center will be a launchpad for advancement – a place where trust is built, dreams are nurtured, and the voice of the farmworker is heard; a place that fosters resilience and embodies the aspirations of those we serve toward long-term success.
But we cannot do this alone. Your support is essential to making this vision a reality. Together, we can create a place that embodies hope, opportunity, and a sense of belonging. The Family Resource Center will not only stand as a testament to progress but as a foundation for those striving for a brighter future.
Let us join hands to uplift our agricultural community and ensure that every farmworker family has access to the support and resources they deserve.
With deepest gratitude,
Darrell Muniz

The Capital Campaign For Family Resource Center
Advancing Inclusive Growth, Leadership, and Equity
The Capital Campaign for the California Farmworker Foundation embodies our core values, articulates our vision, and guarantees the utmost quality of responsive social programs and services for individuals in California’s Central Valley. This initiative embraces a collaborative, community-driven approach.
We have seen the landscape evolve and change over time. We, as an organization, have to adapt to the change. Our commitment is bigger than our capacity today; we realize, based on our own data and the reinforcement from the Healthy Places Index data, that we need to foster and develop more partnerships to serve more individuals in the communities we reach. With these partnerships, we will be able to provide transformational change and direct services that will impact some of the most urgent needs.
This capital campaign is designed to tackle the immediate and critical needs of farmworker communities. It will create a safe and trusted space for individuals and families to gather, empowering their voices and providing essential services to uplift community and family members. The Family Resource Center will serve as a central hub, offering access to care, educational courses, and learning opportunities to advance our workforce for long-term success.
Although this Family Resource Center will be headquartered in Delano, California, it will represent the entire Central Valley from Madera to Kern County. This can only happen through the generous support of our donors. We are grateful to our friends and partners who trust our mission. Gifts and grants from supporters, foundations, corporations, governments, and organizations enable us to meet today’s challenges and provide responsive solutions to the dynamic issues impacting our communities.
The Family Resource Center Campaign for the California Farmworker Foundation represents not only an investment in the future of CFF but in our state, region, farmworking community, and neighbors.

The Farmworker Paradox
It’s hard to imagine that the very people that produce healthy fruits, vegetables for the world are among the most food insecure in California. The Central Valley, most consistently Kern County, rank among the lowest in the Healthy Places Index (HPI) for indicators of Economy, Education, Healthcare, Housing, Neighborhoods, Environment, Transportation and Social domains.
Why Delano and the Central Valley
- 1 in 3 residents live in food deserts
- 24% live in poverty; 2x state average
- Median Income: ~$45k; about half the state average
- 40% under- or uninsured
