CFF Participates at Ag Day at the Capitol

CFF staff was invited by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to participate in this year’s California Ag Day on the West Steps of the State Capitol on March 19.

Ag Day is an annual celebration recognizing California’s agricultural community by showcasing the bounty of crops and commodities produced in our state. The day serves as an opportunity for the industry to express gratitude by bringing together state legislators, government officials, and the public for agricultural education.

This year, CFF was asked to host an informational booth at Ag Day. In line with the theme of honoring agriculture, CFF not only provided information about its work but also gave visitors the chance to meet and converse with farmworkers at the booth. The interactions at the booth were positive, with many expressing gratitude towards farmworkers for their dedication and hard work that contributes to our tables and nation. During the event, Karen Ross, the Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), took the time to visit CFF, express appreciation for our presence and efforts, and acknowledge the hands that play a crucial role in our food chain and nation.

CFF was privileged to receive an invitation to take part in Ag Day, showcasing how we embody our mission of building better futures for California farmworkers.
