CFF Announced as California Chamber of Commerce Community- Based Organization of the Year!
The California Farmworker Foundation has been honored as the Community recipient of the 2023 California Diversity Awards by the California African American, Asian Pacific, and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. Among various statewide community organizations, the CFF was selected for its outstanding efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) across California. At the California Diversity Awards luncheon in Sacramento on June 29, 2023, Luis Katsurayama, the Chairman of the Board, and Diana Melero, the Director of Communications, represented the Foundation. This event celebrated individuals and groups demonstrating a strong dedication to DE&I in the state, with the Selection Committee commending the CFF as the most deserving recipient of the inaugural award. As advocates for diverse small businesses and communities, the chambers recognize the importance of equity, inclusion, and collaborative efforts.
Luis Katsurayama accepted the award on behalf of the Board and CFF staff, with Julian Canete, President and CEO of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, emphasizing the CFF’s impactful community work. The CFF expressed humility and pride in receiving the 2023 California Community-Based Organization Diversity Award from the California Hispanic, African American, and Asian Pacific Chambers of Commerce. Grateful for this esteemed recognition, the CFF extends heartfelt appreciation to the chambers for this honor and acknowledges the support from donors, partners, and supporters who believe in the foundation’s mission to empower farmworkers, uplift farm-working communities, and foster brighter futures across California. The award symbolizes a tribute to the dedication and impact of those who contribute to our society by providing sustenance, inspiration, and positive change in our lives.
